Following his service in WWII, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1947 from Lehigh University with a BSEE where he was inducted into the Tau Beta Phi Society.
He later earned his Executive MBA from the Simon School at the U of R.Keith W. Amish, PE, retired from Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation in 1988 as President and Co-Chief Operating Officer. Following the wide spread black out of 1965 he led the electric utility industry in the establishment of closer power sharing through an industry first operations center, affectionately called "the House that Keith Built." This contribution, along with others, resulted in his being awarded the Engineer of the Year Award in 1987.
Keith gave generously of his time and effort, making significant local contributions in support of the Park Ridge Hospital, Draft Board #76, and the Boy Scouts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the newly established K.W. Amish Engineering Scholarship Fund, which his son Jim lovingly established through the Rochester Engineering Society.
