1:00 - 2:00 CNSE Building Management System PDH Training (1 PDH)
This presentation will provide an in-depth background of the Building Management System (BMS) in use at the College of Nanoscience and Engineering at the University at Albany, Albany New York. The BMS can control and monitor temperature, humidity, air pressure, and carbon dioxide.
Our speaker is Maxwell Lippitt, SUNY Research Foundation Senior Project Engineer. Mr. Lippitt graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He has over 43 years of design experience in the semiconductor industry and holds 17 patents in Semiconductor Device and Process R&D.
2:30 - 3:30 Regional Renaissance: How New York’s Capital Region Became a Nanotechnology Power House (non PDH presentation)
A presentation on the history of an innovative approach in technology management deployed in Albany with a discussion of the open innovation operational model, regional development strategies, workforce development, and opportunities for design engineering and facility operations.
Our speaker is Michael Fancher, Director of the New York State Center for Advanced Technology in Nanoelectronics and Nanomaterials. Mr. Fancher graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and from University at Albany-SUNY, Masters of Art International Economics. He has over four decades of experience in industry, government and academia that includes over 25 years providing executive leadership at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, University at Albany (previously SUNY Polytechnic Institute 2016-2023) for business development, economic outreach and project management developing a broad array of innovative public-private partnerships that support manufacturing consortia, technology commercialization, clean energy programs, entrepreneurial acceleration, workforce education, and regional cluster formation.
4:00 - 5:00 Semiconductor Process Overview Course (SPOC) (1PDH)
This session will provide an overview of the manufacturing process of Integrated Circuits with discussions on Diffusion, Photolithography, Etching, Thin Film Deposition, and Polishing and Electroplating.
