WHO do we do it for?

When you join RES you will have opportunities to be part of and benefit from the WHAT and HOW of RES that include:

Publicize a project or technology

We provide the Rochester Engineer (monthly magazine) to the engineering community that discuss local happenings in the engineering community.

Publicly recognize the remarkable accomplishments of fellow engineers

We annually honor outstanding engineers in the community as Engineers of Distinction, Kate Gleason Young Engineer of the Year and Engineer of the Year.  The Rochester Engineer publishes promotions of employees of professional firms.

Enhance professional development

We provide a monthly Continuing Education series to broaden skill sets.   Each session typically provides 1-2 PDH’s.

These courses are also a great way to highlight the skills of engineers that are willing to provide short 1hr lectures to the community.

Promote scholarships for students in the Rochester community entering the engineering field

We help manage and award scholarships for RES, Affiliate and professional firms for both college and high school students.

Remember these faces!  They may be your next employees!

Give back to the community

RES provides ways for you to have direct community impact, through various outreach programs including, Tutoring, STEM Bridges, E3 Fair and Explorer Post.  The RES has provided the infrastructure for facilitating tutoring opportunities at the Dr. Walter Cooper Academy for the last eight years.  The RES has attracted well over 60 volunteer tutors!

Build relationships within the engineering community

We provide monthly social gatherings where members can meet engineers from various disciplines and Affiliate Engineering Societies.

Find local talent from within the community.

Job Postings are available in the Rochester Engineer and a searchable skill set database for members only is in the works.
